West Pine Elementary Does Halloween!

I have a feeling the next few posts we have are going to revolve around one thing, and one thing only: HALLOWEEN! Lucy and Zach have been sooooo excited to bust out their costumes and show them off. Lucy asked Grandma Cardon to make her a Barbie Princess costume and it turned out stunning! Lucy felt like the belle of the ball and could NOT wait to get to the party!
Zachary wanted to be Spiderman of course since he has a new-found obsession with super heroes, and was in love with the big muscles his costume gave him. Both my little goblins were as cute as could be!
We headed over to Lucy's elementary school for their annual Trunk or Treat and Harvest Festival, and the kids went wild playing carnival games and loading up on candy. Lucy won these vampire teeth at the bean bag toss and decided maybe she'd become a Vampire Princess for awhile. Watch out Bella!
Then she wanted her face painted while Zach did some more games. Her art teacher was doing the painting and told me that Lucy is one of her favorites. Every time I've been to the school I have 2 or 3 faculty tell me how much they like Lucy and how wonderful she is, which is like the best feeling in the world as a mom-- and Lucy is the same way with them, she hugs just about everybody we see. Not sure how much I'm going to get that with my next little kindergartner.:)
A beautiful butterfly for the princess!
Then it was time to head back outside for the Trunk or Treat. And honestly, some of the trunks were really freaky! I just don't understand adults who dress up and have freaky masks and all that fake blood and gore just to scare little kids!! Why?? Guh.
There were TONS of kids, so it took us awhile to get through the parking lot, but both kiddos came away with tons of candy, and Jon's philosophy is to let them eat it all in one fell swoop, so let the games begin...
Lucy with her kindergarten teacher Mrs. White, who was dressed like an owl. She sure loves her school!
