A March Hare

March is marching on whether I record it or not, so I thought I'd better post a quick update of what's been happening here in the North of Carolina.
First up, she's MOBILE!! Baby Weah (or Leah, rather) has officially been rolling over, which for my kids is quick warning that they're one step closer to crawling faster than I'm ready for. I haven't even baby-proofed yet! I got spoiled arranging my house the way I've wanted since my older kids don't really get into stuff anymore. Sigh. My peace is to be short-lived.
This is the view I'm greeted to each morning from my back kitchen windows. With Day Light Saving's last week, we've literally gotten up with the sun as Lucy gets dressed for school. I'm more okay with waking up at 6:45 a.m. when this is the first thing I see. So pretty!
Our king sized mattress arrived this past Tuesday, which was a big, BIG deal since Lucy inherited our old bed. It was quite the production moving our bed into her room so the delivery guys had room to set up the new one. Unfortunately Leah slowly got covered up as we arranged Lucy's (and by default Zach's) new bed. She looked like one of Lucy's stuffed animals.
 Where's Waldo?
My childhood breakfast tradition of Saturday morning pancakes has passed on a generation since Lucy and Zach now expect pancakes on Saturdays. I can still remember my Dad flipping pancakes in his teal blue robe (you know the one) and singing, "When the sun's comin' up I got cakes on the griddle, Life aint nothin' but a funny funny riddle!" Good times.
Miss Leah being a Daddy's girl. She has slowly mellowed out and rarely cries, unless of course she is not being held, or cuddled, or loved on. Then she's TICKED off. So, pretty much she is spoiled rotten.
Saturday morning there was a St. Patrick's Day parade in Pinehurst Village (which is as small and rinky-dink as it sounds). It basically consisted of politicians riding on cars, rich golfers who live around here buzzing around in their golf carts, and some random bag-pipers. The kids loved it.
I mentioned a few posts ago that I got hired for a new teaching job, but since the gym is connected with the hospital I had to get hired through the hospital. Almost 1 1/2 months later (no joke) they are finally processing me into the system. I had to go in for drug-testing, lab work (to make sure my immunizations were up to date), finger prints for a background check, a written test regarding customer service policies, because really, they're clearing me to perform open heart surgery. It's just a strength training class, for heaven's sake!  I have missed working out SO. MUCH. It's like I had a part of me cut off. I will be really glad to get back into shape!
Leah is HUGE. I don't know if it's just because she's my third that her growth seems to be going at warp speed, but I can't believe she's already 4 months old. This dress is 6-9 mos. size and it fits perfectly. I don't know what I'm going to do if she outgrows her summer clothes before summer!
And finally, Lucy made a most keen observation the other day. She said, "Hey mom! Did you know we got one of each kind?" Meaning we got our Chocolate (brown eyes and brown hair).
Our Vanilla (blonde hair and blue eyes).
And our Strawberry (auburn hair and green eyes).
What's next?!? Butterscotch??
